Photo Journal: Should you cruise with Ambassador?

The Thames at Greenwich Peninsular

Day 1 - London, North Greenwich

Tomorrow I will, if all goes to plan, on board the Ambassador Ambition In Tilbury. I now have several cruises under my belt and this will be the first time with this British cruise company.

I am booked on the Mediterranean Grand Voyage cruise which will take 32 days and hopefully live up to it’s “Grand” billing. So far so good. My booking via my travel agent went smoothly and communication and arrangements with Ambassador have gone to plan.

The only negatives or insights into potential problems have come via several Facebook groups, which although overwhelmingly positive make reference to some issues with the air con systems in some cabins.

I will be cruising on the Ambiance one of two cruise ships in the company. Both have had long careers with other companies under different names. By todays standards the ships are small and offer a more intimate experience. Smaller ships can also use ports that may be unsuitable for larger ships.

Ambassador offers excellent value for money with the convenience of departures from several uk ports. My package includes the Expedition drinks package, gratuities and wi-fI. With a reputation for good food, entertainment and customer care I hope to have some positive feedback.

As a pre cruise treat I have a few nights in London prior to sailing. Tomorrow I’ll be driving to Tilbury for a 1pm boarding slot. More to follow…..
